Samson James

We are so thrilled to welcome Samson James into the world!
Born at 4:38am, December 11th
A sturdy 9lbs 1oz and 20.75 inches long.
Healthy and perfectly made.

We were so worried that Nana Tilda would have to leave before he was born. But he came two days before she left. We are all so grateful that she got to meet her newest grandson! And so thankful she was here to be with Samson's older siblings so we could focus on our little guy while we were in the hospital.

Blake was so sweet meeting his new baby brother.
Proud Daddy
One day old! Little sweetie!
Nearly three days in the hospital can feel like an eternity! Its always such a relief to be back home.

Welcome home little man!
Just in time to finish our Christmas canvas!
Bringing home baby number four, to a house full of little ones, right before Christmas, could have been terribly overwhelming if not for our awesome moms! They both stayed for 10 days, overlapping by a day, which wound up happening while we were in the hospital. They helped with anything and everything we needed help with. They made the whole experience extra special for the whole family! Nana Tilda and Nana Karen, we couldn't have done it without you!

Sweet Samson

Welcome to the world precious little one.

Kangaroo Party!

December 8th, my baby girl turned 4!

The birthday girl!

Per her request, we had a "Kangaroo Party." I wasn't really sure what that meant, but I think we pulled it off ok. :) I made kangaroo ears for her and Bubs. I made a very girly kangaroo cake. And tried to come up with kangaroo type games. She was happy. That's all that matters.

Hop-scotch. Hehe.
At the end of the day, what really makes a party fun is having your friends there!

"Happy birthday to you..."
If her wish was for a piece of cake, it was quickly granted. :)

Happy birthday to our 4 year old!

Our main present to our big four year old was her tuition and uniform for dance class! She had been waiting to join for months! Very exciting! She started in January, and is loving it!!

Happy 5th!

December is definitely our busy time of year. So much stuffed into one little month!

The first big event in our house was Jim's and my wedding anniversary.
December 5th marked 5 wonderful years!

It seems like a minute and a lifetime all at once. In those 5 years we have lived in four houses, two different states, and brought four amazing children into the world! (Technically Samson wasn't born until 6 days after our anniversary, but within the week still counts. But more on that in another post.) Its been such a whirlwind adventure already. I'm excited to see what the future holds for us.

Halloween 2014

Seeing as how its February, it seemed appropriate to do a post about Halloween. Just kidding! I'm only just now getting back to any kind of schedule that includes extras, like blogging. So, I'm playing a little bit of catch up.

Halloween was really fun this year! What started out as a quiet, low key evening, turned into a great get together with friends.

Sheriff Squishy Pants

Our dino/dragon rider

Our giraffe rider

These two really loved their costumes! And still play with them regularly.

Due to the awful cold, windy weather, we added this teddy bear costume over the Sheriff costume to help keep him warm.

Our cute crew!

Several families we know were planning a chili potluck dinner to take place at a friends house in town. But given the time and the awful weather, it was very cold and windy, we decided the best thing to do was stay in our neighborhood. Though, it was a hard decision to make, and we were sad to miss out on the time with friends. And then, in a rather sudden turn of events, we were informed that the hosting family had several sick kiddos, sadly enough. And were asked to host at our home instead. We were happy to do so, and thrilled to have a house full of friends!
The little kids only made it to a couple houses before we turned back to the house. It was just too cold and windy! But our brave Pastor took the big kids around the neighborhood. While the rest of us enjoyed hot drinks and delicious hot chili.

And we all enjoyed getting to celebrate with the birthday girl, Lucy! Six years old, and very clever. She got nearly double the candy by making it known that it was her birthday. :) Smart girl!

A happy birthday, and a great Halloween!
